Enjoy the beauty of the 18-year-old oak trees in the front yard and then enter through the breeze way to this eclectic garden. Here, there are a variety of plants, trees, succulents, and many species of aloes which have been paired with traditional plants. Some favorite trees in the yard are the fruiting apricot tree and the two Weeping Kashmir’s (Cupressus Cashmeriana). The yard was designed to have a very natural organic feel. The pool and hardscape were artistically inspired using circles, spirals and rounder shapes found in nature. The pebble mosaics were influenced by Baja California and are paired with a sunken seating area that has a solid granite rock fire pit by sculptor Roger Hopkins. The homeowners wanted their kids to learn about growing vegetables, so they installed three raised planters in the back yard. The water garden was created using the philosophies of the Van Ness Water Gardens balanced natural pond eco-system. Enjoy the fish and aquatic plants including lilies. Oh, and don’t forget the amazing view!
