JUNIOR
GARDENER PROGRAM AT CONCORDIA
The San
Clemente Garden Club is pleased to announce the creation of
Learning Through Nature: A
Butterfly Habitat School Garden at
Concordia
Elementary School.
Club members and Concordia teachers have designed an
instructional school garden and Junior Gardener Program that
ties into the science curriculum for each grade. In addition
to a primary focus on 2nd
grade curriculum, the program involves other grades in
garden based science projects including: rain saver water
barrels (5th);
worm composting bins (4th);
CA native habitat plants (3rd);
and in-class butterfly habitats (K-2nd). The educational
focus on habitat and water wise gardening will spread school
wide.
